Do you have tinted windows for your car? They are great while driving during the day but try parking a car with tinted windows at night and its a pain in the ass. The problem is that with tinted windows I can’t see anything especially when I am looking back and trying to parallel park at night in the streets of San Francisco.

So, here’s the idea….. why don’t automobile manufacturers uses Photochromatic glass for rear windows of cars??? That way my windows stay “tinted” or “darken” during the day time and at night since there is no sun, the windows become clear and thus making it easy for drivers to park and drive around.

I know it might be expensive to implement but it would be good product offering for luxury car manufacturers such as Mercedes Benz, BMW, Lexus etc and quite frankly I would pay little extra $$ for that luxury feature.

Here’s an idea, we all carry cash here and there so why not use some of it to our marketing effort. Create a stamp with your company name and one line about what your company does and stamp the dollar bills that you carry. This way every time you use cash and purchase something using that dollar bill, they will see your company’s name and what it does. And when that person pays someone else using the same bill, the 3rd person also see’s your company name and so on. And that is free marketing for you.

McDonalds got sued few years ago because a lady spilled boiling coffee on her hand and McDonalds had to pay chunk load of cash.

When I get coffee from Starbucks or any other store, I am always very cautious when taking the first sip because I am never sure if the coffee is too hot for my tongue to handle and I do not want to burn my mouth. I am sure we all have experienced that.

It makes me wonder why does Starbucks or any coffee shop does not have a Temperature Strip outside their coffee cup which tells the temperature of the sizzling hot beverage inside. That way, I can visually see what is the temperature of the beverage and decide if I am ready to take that first sip. Or I can wait till the temperature drops to my comfort level before taking the sip.

This will save my tongue from burning and Coffee shops from being sued by customers who burn themselves with hot beverages.

This world belongs to us, the products used in this world are created for us to make our lives better. So as I sit here at 1236am in my room I wonder its not necessary that only Industrial Design Engineers can improve the quality of a product, you and I can do it as well. Its our responsibility to create new ideas either they are about improving the quality of life, marketing of a company/idea, improving a product etc so that it enhances our lives.

So based on these thoughts, IDEAS FROM LIFE blog is born. Here I will give my ideas on how to improve any product. Ideas will range from completely silly to very thought provoking and I hope you all join me in this process.
